Like many places around the world, travelling to the UK will bring you many unique experiences and sometimes, it can be difficult to know where to start, especially if you’re on a time limit! While you may not be able to travel to the UK right now due to their second lockdown currently in place, you may have it on your bucket list to travel there in the future. It’s always a good idea to take some time to research destinations and activities before travelling anywhere, and we’ve put a quick guide together so that you can make the most of your trip to the UK, whenever that may be!
Experience the countryside
One of the things we’re most famous for in the UK is our incredible countryside. While there are some amazing sights to see in cities such as London and Birmingham, taking some time out to enjoy the tranquil countryside is definitely worth your while. Why not find a remote cottage in the middle of nowhere and enjoy seeing nothing but beautiful countryside as far as the eye can see?
Listen to the locals!
Like anywhere you go, taking recommendations from the residents of the UK will bring you a much better experience than if you were to wing it. Whether they recommend fun things to do in York or a weekend in the Scottish hills, you can guarantee you’ll have a wonderful time if the residents recommend it!
Try out the traditions
Another thing that the UK is famous for is our bizarre traditions such as fish and chips, a full sunday roast, Guy Fawkes night and most famously, we love our cups of tea. Try and experience as many British traditions as possible on your visit for the full experience!
Find interesting places with a unique history
There are an endless amount of places in the UK that have extremely interesting backstories, and a lot of British tourism comes from that! Find interesting places to visit such as Malvern in Worcestershire, home of the famous Malvern Hills (named an area of outstanding beauty) that produces Malvern water, famously drunk by the Queen herself! Malvern is also home to the Morgan Motor Company factory, one of the oldest car manufacturers in the world. Pack your visit with plenty of interesting places and you’ll feel very fulfilled by the experience.
Take plenty of photos!
The UK is very pretty, being home to incredible features such as the white cliffs of Dover, vast amounts of colourful countryside, and of course, Snowdonia in Wales, you’d be mad not to bring your camera to capture the beauty!
Bring a coat!
Finally, the UK is well-known for its climate and the one thing that you’ll find regularly is a spell of rain every now and then! Be sure to pack a waterproof coat, and an umbrella, but you should also pack for sunny weather too as the weather over here is very unpredictable!
One thing is for sure, you’ll have a wonderful time when visiting the UK!
